Emojis History

Emoji as we know them today, however, got their start in Japan. In fact, the word "emoji" can be translated to "image character." Emoji were officially invented in the 1990s, thanks to a man named Shigetaka Kurita and the company he worked for, Docomo. Emoji have certainly made a lot of progress in recent years, with fresher appearances and greater variety; but originally, where did emoji come from? In a rather entertaining new video, Mental Floss' Big Questions series explains the history of the emoji and how they came to be. Let's take a look at a few of the highlights, shall we? And scroll down to watch the full video, of course it's as amusing as it is enlightening. The start of emoji, however, was much more humble. People weren't texting each other pictures of paw prints and salsa dancers and flexing arms; in fact, it all began with something simple and seemingly boring to some: Punctuation. It all started with emoticons facial expressions made out of punctuation which made their first appearance in an issue of an 1881 magazine. You heard me: 1881.Emoticons are old as hell. It was just about 100 years later (1982, to be exact) that emoticons were first incorporated into computer language, and they became more mainstream after the turn of the millennium.

Trump Vs War

Iran has launched an unprecedented attack on the world's energy supply. This was declared by our state  senator Mike Pompeo. He put America's credibility on the line by announcing that he accused Iran of carrying out a deviating attack on Saudis oil fass tiles. This then haunted their oil production of 5.7 billion barrels a day. Trump earlier did not identify Iran is an attacking nation. He then used a tweet to back up his secretary of the states claims. He said that there is no reason to believe that they are responsible for this but we are always prepared if anything should happen. The rebels apparently used drones to strike down the oil factory. The real question is though is having Americans be prepared and the president is quite prepared. That is if anything should happen. If the attack on the oil factory proves to be the work of Iran then they should worry about a posing problem. Before trump orders any strike on Iran he needs to seek approval first. So nothing bad is going to happen yet we are not going to war quite yet. So it is safe to say that everyone is fine for the time being. This whole talk of should America get involved or should they not has left people with such mixed emotions. they just don't know what to do.

Google Issues

The attorney general for forty eight US states launched an investigation on google this week. This investigation is concerning weather or not google is violating the antitrust law. The investigation will focus on the advertising market and weather google broke the law in achieving dominance in the industry.  Google's company alphabet has a market value of over eight hundred and twenty billion dollars in the last year. Some companies have fined google for promoting its own ads in its own search. A lot of advertiers think google yields to much power and that they should not be trusted with all that power. The google company's chief executive states that google's products help people everyday. Since launching this investigation into google the federal government has also been urged to check out facebook. Google has a strong grasp of the market and it becomes a system of whatever google says. Google uses this thing called digital ad dollars and it helps promote google's ad system. Google also shows ads not based on if the people who pay them are good or not. They show ads based on what companies or people pay them the most. For example in the article a parent talks about hiring a doctor and googling good doctors. After the parent did that all these ads came up for doctors but they were not good ones. They got awful ratings and the parent complained. Google still tries to put fake ads based on awful advertising. This is a major key factor of why google is getting looked into and being investigated. Who knows what the future will hold for google but it will be greatly impacted if these federal laws are held against them. If they lose the lawsuit as well.

Supreme Court Laws

First they have to wait for an issue to be brought to them. The judges in the supreme court can't come in and say I wanna fix this. They have to wait for the issue to be presented to them. The supreme court hears cases in public. lawyers on opposing sides of each case are allowed thirty minutes to make their argument in front of the whole court. The nine officials listen to the case and argue their sides. Each justice and lawyers have many ideas and your arguing back and forth. The judges say that oral arguments make a difference. Within a few days after hearing the case the justices gather in a room to talk about the case. Only nine of them are in the room. After they decide what they want to do one of the justices writes a legal opinion explaining the legal reasons for their decision. Opinion writing is the most time consuming part of the justices work. This binds all other courts as they decide future cases. Law clerks assistant in researching and drafting opinions. They also prepare for an oral argument and screening the flow for new petitions. In addition to the majority opinion any justice may write a separate opinion decanting from the decision. Or they can write it about agreeing  result but not agreeing with the reasoning. After the court's opinion drafts are finished in about four weeks all opinion drafts are sent to all nine justices. A justice may redraft a dozen or more times in an effort to persuade the others to their opinion. revisions and adjustments may go on for months. On difficult cases a justice switches sides. The courts decisions on all current cases will be accounted in late June. Then they are allowed to release cops to the press. Then the press converts them and then within hours or minutes they will be on the air. Then the world will find out what the court has ruled on these laws. I feel this is the most efficient way to get laws and issues addressed. Although this process takes a wile it is worth it.
