The first emoji part 2

The first emoji was created in 1999 by a Japanese guy named Shigetaka Kurita. He started them because he wanted a way to be able to communicate more effectively and faster. At first he made on 189 emojis. But right now there is over 1,800 emojis. An emoji is a small face you can send over text to communicate how you're feeling. For example if your feeling happy you can send a smiley face. If your feeling sad you can send a sad face to express your emotions over text. This is especially good if your a shy person who wants to express themselves but is afraid to do so. At first emojis were only a thing in Japan and Americans thought it was weird. But eventually it made it over to the United States, making it one of the most popular things today. There are several movies out about emojis. For example there is a movie out right now called the emoji movie. emojis are on there way to becoming their own language and there is doubt in my mind they will.

History of the emoji

Emoji as we know them today, however, got their start in Japan. In fact, the word "emoji" can be translated to "image character." Emoji were officially invented in the 1990s, thanks to a man named Shigetaka Kurita and the company he worked for, Docomo. Emoji have certainly made a lot of progress in recent years, with fresher appearances and greater variety; but originally, where did emoji come from? In a rather entertaining new video, Mental Floss' Big Questions series explains the history of the emoji and how they came to be. Let's take a look at a few of the highlights, shall we? And scroll down to watch the full video, of course it's as amusing as it is enlightening. The start of emoji, however, was much more humble. People weren't texting each other pictures of paw prints and salsa dancers and flexing arms; in fact, it all began with something simple and seemingly boring to some: Punctuation. It all started with emoticons facial expressions made out of punctuation which made their first appearance in an issue of an 1881 magazine. You heard me: 1881.Emoticons are old as hell. It was just about 100 years later (1982, to be exact) that emoticons were first incorporated into computer language, and they became more mainstream after the turn of the millennium.

Google issues

The attorney general for forty eight US states launched an investigation on google this week. This investigation is concerning weather or not google is violating the antitrust law. The investigation will focus on the advertising market and weather google broke the law in achieving dominance in the industry.  Google's company alphabet has a market value of over eight hundred and twenty billion dollars in the last year. Some companies have fined google for promoting its own ads in its own search. A lot of advertiers think google yields to much power and that they should not be trusted with all that power. The google company's chief executive states that google's products help people everyday. Since launching this investigation into google the federal government has also been urged to check out facebook. Google has a strong grasp of the market and it becomes a system of whatever google says. Google uses this thing called digital ad dollars and it helps promote google's ad system. Google also shows ads not based on if the people who pay them are good or not. They show ads based on what companies or people pay them the most. For example in the article a parent talks about hiring a doctor and googling good doctors. After the parent did that all these ads came up for doctors but they were not good ones. They got awful ratings and the parent complained. Google still tries to put fake ads based on awful advertising. This is a major key factor of why google is getting looked into and being investigated. Who knows what the future will hold for google but it will be greatly impacted if these federal laws are held against them. If they lose the lawsuit as well.

Facebook expanding

Facebook has been receiving a lot of backlash lately for all its privacy problems. Ever since people discovered that Facebook can track you and is tracking you it's been quite unsettling. People became concerned as it was. Then the cherry on the cake happened. Millions of facebook accounts got hacked. A lot of people's personal information became the product of black market information. It also became known that Facebook was giving out people's personal information to other big companies like Amazon and Yahoo. People became outraged and felt that all their personal information was everywhere and exposed. Also facebook collected calls and datas from peoples phones if they were running on a google android system. In the end after many lawsuits facebook is settled to pay five billion for privacy mishaps. Paying this is their small fine to pay. It does not due justice to all the privacy lost and all the personal information wasted that Facebook gave companies access to. I feel that after this hopefully facebook has learned their lesson and is not subject to do this kind of act again. Some people claim that facebook getting caught and fined is well needed. For breech has been happening for the past eight years.

Ted Talk Posts

After watching all the TedTalks I realized that all my information is not private and the government is spying on us more than we think. I was surprised to find out that police cars have cameras that take a picture of you license plates that store information for the future. I was also upset to know that the police take pictures of what we do and they store them. Also I thought it was interesting that our calls used to be listened to all the time. Since Apple is coming out with newer technology it has become harder to access messages and texts though phones. I thought it was interesting that companies kept complaining that they wanted more access to people's phones if they did something bad. I also thought electric tattoos are very interesting. These tattoos that are like online footprints. That can be scary. For example when you post a picture on facebook you are able to get face recognized. That is crazy. From a couple of pictures facebook knows who you are. Online is not private anymore and that is super scary to me. The fact that nothing stays private anymore scares me.

Social Media Overload

In some recent facebook article some girl wrote about why she quit social media. This is because social media poisons the minds. She wrote about how that inside the system is killing her ego and her self confidence. I believe that social media is hurting teens at this age. Teens are getting bullied or left out and it is taking a toll on their feelings. I feel that steps need to be taken to improve this impact on teens. I feel that teens should be cut off from social media until they are at least 18. This way they are more mature. The internet also exposes kids to harsh ideas that they do not need to be introduced too. It exposes kids to violet and crimes. My brother for example at age 12 was playing violent games. I feel that he has changed and him growing up as a person. He has been exposed to more ideas that is not needed. I feel that kids these day and age need to be more sheltered from technology. I feel that in this day and age kids should have grown up without technology.

My Online Footprint

In my online life and social media life is crazy. I think my social media footprint is huge. I do not have my own website as of yet. I feel that there is no reason to have my own website as of present time. If a visitor could look at my pages they would see that I like to hang out with my friends and I like to travel to places. I feel that social media can create a form of laziness. it makes people feel upset. When you search me on the internet you can find my linked in and instagram profile. I feel that  my private information that is violently on the website is my email is on it because of my linked in accounts. I feel that no-one is private anymore you can search them up on the website and you will find everything about them. I also feel that when you post something on the internet nothing stays private the internet is not a private place. I feel that anyone who wants to post stuff should be careful on the internet. No matter how private you think something is it never is.

History Of Ray-Ban

Ray-Ban sunglasses are a high end expensive sunglasses brand. They are loved by so many people. They help block the sun out with their special lenses.  They were founded in 1937 by the American company Bausch & Lomb. The brand is best known for their Wayfarer and Aviator lines of sunglasses. In 1999, Bausch & Lomb sold the brand to the Italian eyewear conglomerate Luxottica Group, for a reported US$640 million. After that they have finally jumped to the top. Ray-Bans are usually associated with rich people who want the best type of sunglasses. They have a standard that they have to fulfill. People who wear ray bans want a very particular look and that if that look is not achieved they get upset. Ray-Bans are very durable and they are hard to break. I have had the same pair of Ray-Bans for seven years now. Now I collect them all. I like to get the new styles and see what's new and upcoming. I believe that these sunglasses are the most durable glasses.

Snapchat A Real Life Addiction

Snapchat has become a huge form of social media. Children and adults from the ages of 12-28 use it. Its a form of talking via pictures and text. Also you are able to view a story. A snapchat story is a picture that blasts out to everyone in your snapchat contacts for people to see what your up too. Teens have especially become addicted to the app and it has ruined people's mental health in the process. Studies show that 56% of teens who use snapchat have self esteem issues and are not confident in themselves. People can post pics to make other people jealous of what they are doing at the current time. This is not good this can create so many issues in teens growing up. This can impact their friends and can also impact there face to face personal relationships. Teens do not know how to talk to other teens these days. This is due to the amount of technology teens grew up around. I feel that snapchat has impacted my life in a huge way. I always wanna check it and always want to know what people are up too. It has also affected person to person relationships as well. Kids date via electorally and do not know how to have a full conversation face to face. I feel this damages teens and their growth. Snapchat is harming generations and will continue to harm future generations to come.

Promote Tolerance

I think the most important type of speech is Promote Tolerance. This type of speech deals with free speech and Extremist speech. Some people think that freedom of speech can be hardcore sometimes when it comes to people speaking out. We are told that being an Extremist can be quite a lot sometimes. This word meaning over the top. but in this type of speech I think it is the most important type of speech to promote because of how people should have the right to speak their minds when it comes to ideas of importance. I feel that since these types of speeches have been debated for years that people can take them in a light or heavy way. Sometimes teachers or leaders get upset when people speak out in a dissagering way it makes them feel like they are not supperier anymore. Otherwise most people are ok with expressing free speech in different ways. I feel that In our society we learn lessons from people speaking out and being verbal. The idea is to speak out and have people's voices heard and have their point of view out there in the world. Now we try and spread norms and better behaviors due to people speaking their minds.
